Herbal Remedies Weight Loss

Isn't there anything natural and organic to help me lose weight?

Health and appearance. Just about everyone has one (or both) of these concerns when it comes to their bodies. But for many, acheiving our "ideal weight" is something we struggle with. In fact, with over 1/3 of Americans being overweight, there are millions of people who would love to shed a few pounds (or more) but want to be healthy about it. The realities of starvation diets and even prescription medications for weight loss are that they are dangerous. Furthermore, when you stop taking the drug or change the diet, the weight returns.

So, are there any natural, herbal, or organic weight loss secrets to help you on your journey?

Well, while there is no miracle "weight loss herb"...

There are herbs that will burn fat for you!

There is no great "secret" about this either. When your body intakes fuel in the form of fats, simple sugars and carbs, it literally creates heat as it breaks the fuel down to use for body function. This is how we humans maintain a 98.7 degree body temp. Weight loss occurs when our body burns more calories than we intake.

This process is called Thermogenesis. So, there are herbs that will increase the bodies level of thermogenesis, therefore burning more calories than it would otherwise.

There are also herbs that will help appetite suppression, and stimulate digestion.

The Real Deal - What herbs will aid weight loss, and in what ways?

Cayenne Pepper:
A.K.A "Pizza peppers". This spicy red pepper is often dried, crushed, and then added to foods such as pizza as a spice. It is generally "hot" to the taste, and it is one of my personal favorite spices. It contains an organic chemical called capsaicin. Capsaicin is used to stimulate digestion and increase metabolism. Green Tea:
Green Tea has been drank by the chinese for hundereds of years. Besides being very good for your health in general, it is a natural source of caffinee and contains certain antioxidants that naturally boost metabolism. Learn more about green tea for weight loss here.

Seaweed, a.k.a: Kelp:
Kelp has been used by many cultures as a "vegetable" of sorts. It contains some valuable nutrients, and is a natural stimulant for the thyroid. This in turn can boost metabolism.

Nettle:
Nettle is a weed like plant that is often referred to as a "stinging nettle". It is often used in teas and tinctures. It has appetite suppressant qualities, and possibly thermogenesis properties as well. Use sparingly, because it acts as a dieuretic as well...it's necessary to drink a lot of water with it.

Licorice:
Yes, the candy ;).black licorice is purported to reduce body fat without reducing the body mass index. In other words...you lose FAT when using this, not just water weight or muscle weight. This has been proven in clinical trials. However, in a few rare cases there are possible side effect, including hypertension. Find out more information on Licorice and weight loss here.

Hoodia Gordonii:
This is a rather "new" herb used for weight loss. From Africa, it is used as
an appettite suppressent. It has had some limited studies conducted at Brown University, that confirm it has this attribute. However, there are some side effects as well that should be considered.
