The Truth About A Surprising Natural Cocaine Treatment:

A Natural Cocaine Treatment - this is a billion dollar question. Cocaine and cocaine addiction go hand in hand, and for most addicts, addiction sneaks up on them very quietly, but very quickly. The party night turns into the after party morning, then a hit before work to make it through the day... and then a long way down to rock bottom.

However, for those that are truly ready to clean their life up, there are several paths that can have some success.

Here are 2 effective approaches to kick a cocaine habit:

Natural Cocaine Treatment

There are treatment programs that have a PROVEN track record of success, but relapse is almost guaranteed at some point in every addicts life. These programs do help minimize the degree and duration of a relapse though.

Another avenue is to join a 12 step program, like Narcotics Anonymous, or Cocaine Anonymous.

However, these programs focus on acceptance, coping strategies, and refocusing your life on other things. They do not have the ability to reduce the biochemical cravings that occur in the brain. So besides these programs, there ARE some natural and herbal remedies that you can use to help quit your cocaine habit.

NAC - A Possible Cocaine Treatment

So how does one quit cocaine? Is there really a natural cocaine treatment? Besides a treatment or 12 step program, The miracle natural remedy that can reduce cravings is the amino acid NAC. NAC, or N-acetylcysteine, is an amino acid that is available at most health supplement stores like G.N.C.

Two studies have been conducted using NAC, the conditions and results are described here:

15 volunteers participated in blind, placebo controlled study in which they took a placebo, or 600mg of NAC every 12 hours for 2 days. The participants taking NAC were found much less likely to look up cocaine related information on the internet, and they responded to a questionairre with a greatly reduced interest and craving to cocaine.

Another study of 23 people consisted of researchers giving these people 600mg, 1200mg, and 1800mg of NAC twice a day for 4 weeks. 16 people completed the study, and cocaine abuse dropped substantially. For the people that completed the study, usage dropped from an average of 8 times a month, to just 1 time a month, or an 85% reduction.

The first study was a small but promising sample, and the second study, although promising, has its flaws. It was not placebo controlled, and it had a relatively high drop out rate.

In spite of the flaws, taking NAC seems to have very few if any side effects, and for someone who is sick and tired, and deeply desires a way out of addiction, NAC may provide some very real relief from the cravings of cocaine addiction.
